Dear Friends & Neighbors:

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the eagle fund continues to offer the children of the Southern Berkshire Regional School District outstanding enrichment programming in the arts, sciences and technology outside of their normal academic curriculum.

For over a decade, these diverse programs have enhanced the learning experience of our children. There probably isn’t a student in our district who hasn’t participated in an eagle fund program sometime in their academic career.

As I look back at the Grant Requests for this year, I am inspired by the quality and breadth of the applications. Members of our community, teachers and administrators are working together to bring their remarkable expertise to our schools - designing courses that will engage our students and expand the way they learn. For example, programs in robotics, cultural traditions, engineering, nutrition and drumming will give hands-on experience to our kids that directly relates to the academics they are learning in their classrooms. Other courses will take our children outside the school building and into our local community. Students will meet regional artists and experts and have the opportunity to see how art, science and technology can be applied to real world situations.

Through our partner, the Janet’s Fund, several high school students have applied and been awarded grants to participate in programs in Vet Science, Game design and Aviation – allowing them to pursue opportunities that may lead to successful career choices.

The eagle fund programs provide our students with new ways of thinking, moving, creating - they are engaged, inspired, and motivated to be excited about learning.

On behalf of our Board of Governors and the students of the Southern Berkshire Regional School District, I thank you for your commitment to help the eagle fund thrive. Our local businesses, towns and residents are the reason we can continue to offer this outstanding programming. Together we will work to ensure that we offer our students the enriched learning experiences they deserve.

With best regards,
Diane Pearlman Diamond
